Michelle Diaz

Michelle Diaz received her B.S. in Business Administration from Trinity University. Upon graduation, she worked in Houston and San Antonio as a Certified Public Accountant. Michelle received her doctoral degree in accounting from Texas A&M University in 2005. She has held faculty positions at both Louisiana State University and Texas A&M University. Michelle is currently a Clinical Associate Professor in the James Benjamin Department of Accounting at Mays Business School where she teaches courses in Accounting Information Systems and Auditing. Her research has been published in several journals including The Accounting Review. Her professional service includes reviewing on the editorial board of Issues in Accounting Education, directing the Accounting Former Doctoral Students (AFDS) Research Conference, chairing the Mays Assessment Steering Committee, and serving on many other college and departmental committees.

Michelle and her husband, Juan, love being a part of the Bryan-College Station community. They have three children who are active in a variety of activities in the community and in school. In addition to Ballet Brazos, Michelle has previously served on the Greens Prairie PTO, the St. Thomas Aquinas Vacation Bible School planning team and is currently the treasurer of the the Brazos Christian School PTF. Michelle has enjoyed becoming more involved with Ballet Brazos over the past several years. She is very excited about the role that Ballet Brazos plays in the Brazos Valley by bringing performance arts to the community through The Nutcracker, collaborations with BVSO, and other community outreach as well as inspiring and developing young dancers.
