Ballet Brazos Lead Dancer
Ellie Jouett
Ellie found her love of dance at Sue’s Dance in Georgetown at the age of 2. Since that time, she has also trained at Suzanne’s School of Dance and Pure Energy Dance Productions, focusing on classical ballet. This year, she is beginning her studies at The Ballet Academy under Christi Varvel, John Reid and Aya Reid. She has attended summer intensives at Vitacca Vocational School of Dance and Suzanne’s School of Dance under Ashley Laracey of the New York City Ballet, as well as classes under Kerry Godkins of Vitacca. Ellie has also trained under Libby James of Ballet Austin. She has enjoyed dancing the part of the Cheshire Cat in Alice in Wonderland with Sue’s Dance, as well as Pond, Flower, and Bird in Peter and the Wolf with Ballet Brazos. In past performances of The Nutcracker, Ellis has danced the roles of Party Girl, Pointe Angel, Arabian Attendant, Flower understudy, and Snowflake understudy. This year, she is looking forward to dancing the parts of Rosebud, Snowflake, and Soldier Doll in The Nutcracker performances, as well as understudy roles for Lead Spanish and the Harlequin and Columbine Dolls. Ellie plans to pursue a career in dance after high school.
