Callie (15) began dancing at the age of four. Callie trained and danced for seven years on the company team at On Our Toes Dance Studio under the direction of Tammy Threadgill. While competing Callie received numerous awards as a soloist– including Top Scoring Soloist, Competitive High Scoring Soloist, and winner of the Turning Technique Award. In 2020 Callie joined The Ballet Academy at Suzanne’s School of Dance under the direction of Christi Varvel, studying under John and Aya Reid. Callie was chosen as a Scholarship Finalist at the Moti8 Dance Convention in 2022. Callie also served as the captain of the Wellborn Warhawks Dance Team during their 21-22 season where she won the award of Performer of the Year. Over the past four years Callie has had the honor to train at numerous summer intensives across the country, including Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet, Nashville Ballet, Urbanity Dance, and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. This fall Callie was invited to join the Houston-based, pre-professional contemporary company, Noble Motion Dance 2, under the direction of Andy and Dionne Noble, with artistic directors, Colette Kerwick and Lauren Serrano. Callie began performing for Ballet Brazos in 2021, performing as Pointe Angel and Party Teen in The Nutcracker. She also performed the role of Huntress in the Ballet Brazos production of Peter and the Wolf. This year Callie is thrilled to be performing her first lead role in The Nutcracker, gracing the stage as Lead Chinese. She is so thankful to Ballet Brazos for this incredible opportunity.
