Erin Ferris
Erin was born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin, the picturesque capital of America’s Dairyland. When it came time to pursue a college education, she traded Wisconsin’s cows for Iowa’s cornstalks and spent the next five years pursuing her BA in Sociology at the University of Iowa. On their way to Texas, Erin, her husband, Tom, and their two kiddos made stops in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Ann Arbor, Michigan, but they got here as soon as they could.
After nearly 10 years of working in financial development, volunteer management, and health and safety training for the American Red Cross, in 2010 Erin shifted gears professionally and decided to focus on a long-time passion in hopes it could become a paying gig. Thankfully, it could, and she is now a part-time, freelance writer who contributes regularly to a host of blogs, websites, and magazines. When not writing or shuttling her kiddos to and from their extracurricular activities, she serves on multiple school/district boards and committees, volunteers for Cavalry soccer, and supports Ballet Brazos as the Board Secretary.
