Ballet Brazos Lead Dancer: Dew Drop Fairy
Natalie, 16 years old, is the daughter of James and Paula Lancaster. She began her dance training at the age of eight with Melissa McDonald and Lynsey Dorsett at Expressions Dance & Music in College Station, Texas. She was a member of the Expressions Dance Company for four years. In the fall of 2014, Natalie began taking additional ballet classes at Suzanne’s School of Dance under Katy Ellison and Katy Hanik. This is her sixth year to perform in Ballet Brazos’ The Nutcracker, and has danced the roles of Party Girl, Snowflake, Flower, Marzipan, Harlequin Doll, and Columbine Doll. Over the last six years, she has performed various solo and ensemble roles for Ballet Brazos in Masquerade and Peter and the Wolf. Natalie has received additional dance training at the American Ballet Theatre summer intensive in Alabama. She is currently a junior at College Station High School and a Lieutenant on the College Station High School Strutters drill team under the direction of former Kilgore Rangerettes Anna McBride and Madison Cashion. Natalie has won top awards for her solos at both Regional and State competitions with her own choreography with Crowdpleasers, American Dance/Drill Team Society, and Showstoppers. She is an active member of Christ United Methodist Church, where she enjoys singing in the Primetime Youth Choir, participating in the Youth Group, and serving on the Youth Council. Natalie is grateful to the Ballet Brazos Artistic Staff for this wonderful opportunity to perform the role of the Dew Drop Fairy in this year’s The Nutcracker.
